Bishop Richard G. McKenzie Sr. was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, W.I., to the late Imogene Grant and Joseph McKenzie. He departed from Spanish Town and moved to Clarendon, Jamaica W.I. until the age of 21. At the age of 21 he moved to Kingston, Jamaica W.I. where he sought employment. Bishop McKenzie realized that there was a great calling on his life, and two years after moving to Kingston he received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at the Jamaica Evangelistic Center, 86E Waltham Park Road, where he was baptized by Apostle Dr. V.T. Williams. Bishop McKenzie served in various offices within the ministry where he began to grow spiritually. He experienced, and witnessed, first hand, the mighty hand of God. Countless souls were saved, and miracles began to take place across the island of Jamaica. As Bishop McKenzie continued to grow spiritually, his Bishop realized the gift within him and ordained him as the Assistant Pastor. He served as the Assistant Pastor of the Jamaica Evangelistic Center for a few years and then became the full-time Pastor of a local branch.

 

In 1979 he married the love of his life, Cascels Smith and in 1980 they migrated to the United States. They tried for many years to have a child without success, and had almost given up hope, but in 1984 after being prophesied to, they were blessed with their only child. Pastor McKenzie continued to serve the Lord and in 1991 along with his wife, and young son pioneered the Rock of Holiness Deliverance Ministry. The church has grown from a couple members in a living room to a well-known cornerstone in the community of East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY.  He has obtained a Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate degree in Theology.

On May 5, 2019, Bishop Dr. Richard G. McKenzie was elevated to he office of Bishop and General Overseer of the Rock of Holiness Deliverance Ministry, in the company of many esteemed clergy and well-wishers.

Bishop McKenzie and his wife are now proud grandparents of 4 wonderful grandchildren. He enjoys preaching the undiluted word of God, singing, and currently has 3 CD's, entitled Morning Prayer, Fishers of Men, and Mercy at the foot of the cross.
